| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |

| 12 | Section 1. Subsection (3) is added to section 373.0391, |
| 13 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 14 | 373.0391 Technical assistance to local governments.-- |
| 15 | (3) Upon the request of an independent special district, a |
| 16 | water management district shall assist the independent special |
| 17 | district in determining whether the facilities or operations of |
| 18 | the independent special district have had any adverse effects on |
| 19 | Outstanding Florida Waters. An independent special district may |
| 20 | use any available funding source to mitigate any such adverse |
| 21 | effects on such waters. |
| 22 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009. |
