| 5 | services, hospice services, or certain independent living |

| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |
|
| 10 | Section 1. Subsection (8) of section 154.205, Florida |
| 11 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 12 | 154.205 Definitions.--The following terms, whenever used |
| 13 | in this part, shall have the following meanings unless a |
| 14 | different meaning clearly appears from the context: |
| 15 | (8) "Health facility" means any private corporation |
| 16 | organized not for profit and authorized by law to provide: |
| 17 | (a) Hospital services in accordance with chapter 395; |
| 18 | (b) Nursing home care services in accordance with chapter |
| 19 | 400; |
| 20 | (c) Life care services in accordance with chapter 651; |
| 21 | (d) Services for the developmentally disabled under |
| 22 | chapter 393; |
| 23 | (e) Services for the mentally ill under chapter 394; |
| 24 | (f) Assisted living services in accordance with chapter |
| 25 | 429; or |
| 26 | (g) Hospice services in accordance with chapter 400. |

| 28 | The term "health facility" also includes any private corporation |
| 29 | organized not for profit that offers independent living |
| 30 | facilities and services as part of a retirement community that |
| 31 | provides nursing home care services or assisted living services |
| 32 | on the same campus hospital or nursing home care services in |
| 33 | accordance with chapter 395 or chapter 400 or life care services |
| 34 | in accordance with chapter 651, and also includes facilities |
| 35 | licensed under chapters 393 and 394. |
| 36 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
