    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to automated external defibrillators;
    3         requiring public schools to have an automated external
    4         defibrillator on school grounds; encouraging public
    5         and private partnerships to assist with the cost of
    6         the defibrillators; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9         
   10         Section 1. Each public school shall have at least one
   11  operational automated external defibrillator on the school
   12  grounds. Schools are encouraged to seek public and private
   13  partnerships to assist with the costs of purchasing and
   14  maintaining defibrillators and training personnel in the use of
   15  defibrillators.
   16         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
