       the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (413008) (with title
    2  amendment)

    4         Between lines 263 and 264
    5  insert:
    6         Section 9. (1) Each school district shall observe November
    7  11 of each year as Veterans’ Day and shall observe the week in
    8  which it occurs as Veterans’ Appreciation Week. In any year in
    9  which November 11 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, Veterans’
   10  Appreciation Week shall be observed the week immediately
   11  preceding or following November 11, to coincide with the date
   12  that Veterans’ Day is observed as a federal holiday.
   13         (2) During Veterans’ Appreciation Week, the district shall
   14  provide programs that instruct students on the role of veterans
   15  in the history of our state and country and shall recognize the
   16  contributions made by veterans to our state and country.

   20         And the title is amended as follows:
   21         Delete line 307
   22  and insert:
   23         requiring school districts to observe Veterans’ day
   24         and Veterans’ Appreciation Week; requiring the
   25         districts to provide certain programs during that
   26         week; providing an effective date.
