5 | (b) The supervisor shall also designate any city hall as |
6 | an early voting site. The supervisor may also designate any |
7 | permanent public library facility or any polling place to be |
8 | used on election day as an early voting site. In any general |
9 | election in which a candidate for President of the United States |
10 | appears on the ballot, the supervisor of elections shall |
11 | designate at least one early voting site for every 40,000 |
12 | registered voters within the county. In any general election in |
13 | which a candidate for President of the United States does not |
14 | appear on the ballot, the supervisor shall designate at least |
15 | one early voting site for every 80,000 registered voters within |
16 | the county. To the extent practicable, the designated sites must |
17 | be geographically located so as to provide all voters in the |
18 | county an equal opportunity to cast a ballot The supervisor may |
19 | also designate any city hall or permanent public library |
20 | facility as early voting sites; however, if so designated, the |
21 | sites must be geographically located so as to provide all voters |
22 | in the county an equal opportunity to cast a ballot, insofar as |
23 | is practicable. The results or tabulation of votes cast during |
24 | early voting may not be made before the close of the polls on |
25 | election day. Results shall be reported by precinct. |
