12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
13 |

14 | Section 1. Section 394.4996, Florida Statutes, is created |
15 | to read: |
16 | 394.4996 Integrated adult mental health crisis |
17 | stabilization and addictions receiving facilities.-- |
18 | (1) The Agency for Health Care Administration, in |
19 | consultation with the department, may license facilities that |
20 | integrate services provided in an adult mental health crisis |
21 | stabilization unit with services provided in an adult addictions |
22 | receiving facility. Such a facility shall be licensed by the |
23 | agency as an adult crisis stabilization unit under part IV and |
24 | must meet all licensure requirements for crisis stabilization |
25 | units providing integrated services. |
26 | (2) An integrated mental health crisis stabilization unit |
27 | and addictions receiving facility may provide services under |
28 | this section to adults who are 18 years of age or older and who |
29 | fall into one or more of the following categories: |
30 | (a) An adult meeting the requirements for voluntary |
31 | admission for mental health treatment under s. 394.4625. |
32 | (b) An adult meeting the criteria for involuntary |
33 | examination for mental illness under s. 394.463. |
34 | (c) An adult qualifying for voluntary admission for |
35 | substance abuse treatment under s. 397.601. |
36 | (d) An adult meeting the criteria for involuntary |
37 | admission for substance abuse impairment under s. 397.675. |
38 | (3) The department, in consultation with the agency, shall |
39 | adopt by rule standards that address eligibility criteria; |
40 | clinical procedures; staffing requirements; operational, |
41 | administrative, and financing requirements; and the |
42 | investigation of complaints. |
43 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009. |
