The Committee on Regulated Industries (Dean) recommended the
following:

4 insert:
5 Section 53. Subsection (4) of section 573.118, Florida
6 Statutes, is amended to read:
7 573.118 Assessment; funds; audit; loans.—
8 (4) In the event of levying and collecting of assessments, for
9 each fiscal year in which assessment funds are received by the
10 department, the department shall maintain records of collections
11 and expenditures for each marketing order separately within the
12 state’s accounting system. If requested by an advisory council,
13 department staff shall cause to be made a thorough annual audit
14 of the books and accounts by a certified public accountant, such
15 audit to be completed within 60 days after the request has been
16 received end of the fiscal year. The advisory council department
17 and all producers and handlers covered by the marketing order
18 shall be provided a copy of the properly advised of the details
19 of the annual official audit of the accounts as shown by the
20 certified public accountant within 30 days of the completion of
21 the audit.
