1	House Resolution
2	A resolution designating March 2009 as "Professional
3	Social Work Month" in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, social workers use their education and experience
6	to guide individuals, families, and communities through complex
7	issues and choices, and
8	WHEREAS, social workers connect individuals, families, and
9	communities to available resources, and
10	WHEREAS, social workers are dedicated to improving the
11	society in which we live, and
12	WHEREAS, social workers are positive and compassionate
13	professionals, and
14	WHEREAS, social workers stand up for others to make sure
15	everyone has access to the same basic rights, protections, and
16	opportunities, and
17	WHEREAS, social workers help people to help themselves,
18	whenever and wherever they need it most, and
19	WHEREAS, social workers have been instrumental in many
20	important social movements in the United States and abroad, and
21	WHEREAS, a career in social work is one filled with purpose
22	and possibilities, NOW, THEREFORE,

24	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
25	Florida:

27	That March 2009 is designated as "Professional Social Work
28	Month" in Florida, and all citizens are called to join with the
29	Florida Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers in
30	celebration and support of social workers and the social work
31	profession.
32	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
33	presented to the Florida Chapter of the National Association of
34	Social Workers as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed
35	herein.
