5 | WHEREAS, April 2, 2009, "Florida Phi Theta Kappa Day," is |
6 | an appropriate time for the House of Representatives of the |
7 | State of Florida to recognize and salute Phi Theta Kappa, the |
8 | esteemed international honor society for state, community, and |
9 | junior colleges, and |
10 | WHEREAS, special commendations should be extended to the |
11 | outstanding scholars who comprise the 2009 All-Florida Academic |
12 | Team, a team of highly successful college students assembled by |
13 | the Florida College System, and |
14 | WHEREAS, 92 students from the Florida College System, |
15 | Florida College, and one independent university, Keiser |
16 | University, were named to the 2009 All-Florida Academic Team, |
17 | and |
18 | WHEREAS, based on the national ranking of these students in |
19 | the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and |
20 | Phi Theta Kappa, which is recognized internationally, |
21 | nationally, and in the State of Florida as the primary college |
22 | organization for the recognition of academic achievement, |
23 | leadership, and service to the community, the following students |
