2A resolution honoring the Phi Theta Kappa 2009 All-Florida
3Academic Team members.

5     WHEREAS, April 2, 2009, "Florida Phi Theta Kappa Day," is
6an appropriate time for the House of Representatives of the
7State of Florida to recognize and salute Phi Theta Kappa, the
8esteemed international honor society for state, community, and
9junior colleges, and
10     WHEREAS, special commendations should be extended to the
11outstanding scholars who comprise the 2009 All-Florida Academic
12Team, a team of highly successful college students assembled by
13the Florida College System, and
14     WHEREAS, 92 students from the Florida College System,
15Florida College, and one independent university, Keiser
16University, were named to the 2009 All-Florida Academic Team,
17and
18     WHEREAS, based on the national ranking of these students in
19the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and
20Phi Theta Kappa, which is recognized internationally,
21nationally, and in the State of Florida as the primary college
22organization for the recognition of academic achievement,
23leadership, and service to the community, the following students
24comprise the 2009 All-Florida Academic Team:

129Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

132     That the Florida House of Representatives honors and
133congratulates Phi Theta Kappa, the Florida College System,
134Florida College, Keiser University, and the members of the 2009
135All-Florida Academic Team and commends the team members for the
136outstanding competitive spirit and ability evidenced by their
137accomplishments.
