8 | 2008-2009 Miami Norland Senior High School Girls' Basketball |
9 | Team won the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 6A |
10 | State Championship on February 28, 2009, by defeating Lake Mary |
11 | High School by a score of 27 to 25, and |
12 | WHEREAS, with a 32-0 record, the 2008-2009 Miami Norland |
13 | Senior High School Girls' Basketball Team completed the first |
14 | undefeated season in the school's history for any team sport, |
15 | and |
16 | WHEREAS, while the Miami Norland Senior High School Girls' |
17 | Basketball Program has been the most successful girls' |
18 | basketball program in Miami-Dade County for over two decades, |
19 | with 517 victories over the past 23 years, the 2008-2009 team's |
20 | championship is the program's first state title, and |
21 | WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the 2008-2009 Miami |
22 | Norland Senior High School Girls' Basketball Team is applauded |
23 | for the historic accomplishments of its players and coaches and |
24 | for the team's contributions to both student athletics and the |
25 | community, NOW, THEREFORE, |

31 | 2008-2009 Miami Norland Senior High School Girls' Basketball |
32 | Team for the hard work, dedication, and outstanding |
33 | accomplishments of its players and coaches and honors them for |
34 | being the 2009 Florida High School Athletic Association Class 6A |
35 | State Champions. |
36 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
37 | presented to the 2008-2009 Miami Norland Senior High School |
38 | Girls' Basketball Team as a tangible token of the sentiments |
39 | expressed herein. |
