House Resolution
2A resolution recognizing A.J. Graham, winner of the 2008
3Florida Mr. Football Award.

5     WHEREAS, Quarterback A.J. Graham led the Amos P. Godby High
6School Cougars to the Class 3A Florida High School Athletic
7Association State Championship game, and
8     WHEREAS, during his spectacular 2008 season, A.J. Graham
9completed 244 of 396 passes for 3,870 yards and 38 touchdowns,
10rushed for 564 yards on 99 carries and scored 10 touchdowns, and
11in the process set school records for attempts, completions,
12passing yards, and touchdowns, and
13     WHEREAS, A.J. Graham was named to the 2008 All Big Bend
14Team and the 2008 All State Team, was named the "Offensive
15Player of the Year" by the Tallahassee Democrat and the "Most
16Outstanding Player" by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club, and
17played in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South
18Game, and
19     WHEREAS, on January 30, 2009, A.J. Graham became the first
20football player in the history of the City of Tallahassee to be
21presented the Florida Mr. Football Award, and
22     WHEREAS, awarded by Dairy Farmers, Inc., and the Florida
23Athletic Coaches Association, and presented by the Florida Dairy
24Farmers Association, the Florida Mr. Football Award is an honor
25given to the top high school football player in the state of
26Florida, and
27     WHEREAS, A.J. Graham shares this honor with past winners of
28the award that include NFL All-Pro Daunte Culpepper, 2003 NFL
29Offensive Rookie of the Year Anquan Boldin, and 2007 Heisman
30Trophy winner Tim Tebow, and
31     WHEREAS, on February 4, 2009, A.J. Graham signed his
32National Letter of Intent to play football for the Marshall
33University Thundering Herd, NOW, THEREFORE,

35Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
36Florida:

38     That the Florida House of Representatives congratulates
39A.J. Graham on his historic recognition in being named the 2008
40Florida Mr. Football Award and commends him for his hard work
41and athletic excellence on the football field.
42     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
43presented to A.J. Graham as a tangible token of the sentiments
44expressed herein.
