6 | WHEREAS, with commitment, determination, and hard work, the |
7 | 2008-2009 Merritt Island High School Boys' Soccer Team won the |
8 | Florida High School Athletic Association Class 4A State |
9 | Championship on February 21, 2009, at Pepin Stadium in Tampa by |
10 | beating defending state champion, Allen D. Nease High School, by |
11 | a score of 1 to 0 in double-overtime, and |
12 | WHEREAS, on the path to claiming the State Championship |
13 | title, the 2008-2009 Merritt Island High School Boys' Soccer |
14 | Team compiled a 17-2-4 season record, and |
15 | WHEREAS, outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and |
16 | competitiveness have been characteristics consistently |
17 | demonstrated by Mustangs teammates Ben Behrhorst, Matt |
18 | Behrhorst, Ben Berry, Brad Bone, Chris Chica, Cody Daly, Sean |
19 | Duble, Adam Fertig, Michael Hinds, Eric Huppert, Trevor Lewis, |
20 | Tim Liston, Tyler Marshall, Aaron Mayer, Josh Mills, Jake Moore, |
21 | Malcolm Mozee, Chason Spencer, Tyler Starr, Ian Stoll, Josh |
22 | Strannigan, Jonathan Wagner, Christian Williams, and Tommy |
23 | Williams and head coach Scooty Carey, and |
24 | WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the 2008-2009 Merritt |
25 | Island High School Boys' Soccer Team is applauded for the |
26 | numerous accomplishments of its players and coaches, NOW, |

36 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
37 | presented to the 2008-2009 Merritt Island High School Boys' |
38 | Soccer Team as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed |
