5 | WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is |
6 | the largest statewide organization in the country committed to |
7 | the promotion and support of behavior analysis, and |
8 | WHEREAS, for the past 29 years the Florida Association for |
9 | Behavior Analysis has promoted the use of ethical, humane, and |
10 | effective application of behavior principles in all segments of |
11 | society, including education, business, rehabilitation |
12 | facilities, and government, and |
13 | WHEREAS, behavior analysis is a science-based, cost- |
14 | effective approach for training teachers, parents, and |
15 | caregivers to prevent and solve serious behavior problems, and |
16 | WHEREAS, behavior analysis has been used successfully for |
17 | everything from treating individuals with autism, and teaching |
18 | basic self-help skills and language to persons with |
19 | developmental disabilities, to helping foster parents lovingly |
20 | raise emotionally difficult children, and |
21 | WHEREAS, the behavior analysts who are members of the |
22 | Florida Association for Behavior Analysis come from a variety of |
23 | backgrounds, including consulting firms, state government |
24 | programs, private therapy practices, and school administrations, |
25 | and |
26 | WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis |
27 | holds an annual conference each fall, as a forum for exchanging |
28 | ideas and data-based research related to behavior analysis, |
29 | behavior therapy, performance management, and behavior |
30 | management programming, NOW, THEREFORE, |

36 | week of September 28-October 3, 2009, as "Florida Behavior |
37 | Analysis Week" in Florida. |
