2A resolution recognizing the week of September 28-October
33, 2009, as "Florida Behavior Analysis Week" in Florida.

5     WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is
6the largest statewide organization in the country committed to
7the promotion and support of behavior analysis, and
8     WHEREAS, for the past 29 years the Florida Association for
9Behavior Analysis has promoted the use of ethical, humane, and
10effective application of behavior principles in all segments of
11society, including education, business, rehabilitation
12facilities, and government, and
13     WHEREAS, behavior analysis is a science-based, cost-
14effective approach for training teachers, parents, and
15caregivers to prevent and solve serious behavior problems, and
16     WHEREAS, behavior analysis has been used successfully for
17everything from treating individuals with autism, and teaching
18basic self-help skills and language to persons with
19developmental disabilities, to helping foster parents lovingly
20raise emotionally difficult children, and
21     WHEREAS, the behavior analysts who are members of the
22Florida Association for Behavior Analysis come from a variety of
23backgrounds, including consulting firms, state government
24programs, private therapy practices, and school administrations,
25and
26     WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis
27holds an annual conference each fall, as a forum for exchanging
28ideas and data-based research related to behavior analysis,
29behavior therapy, performance management, and behavior
30management programming, NOW, THEREFORE,

32Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
33Florida:

35     That the Florida House of Representatives recognizes the
36week of September 28-October 3, 2009, as "Florida Behavior
37Analysis Week" in Florida.
