7 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
8 |
|
9 | Section 1. The legal description of the area referred to |
10 | in this act is as follows: |
11 |
|
12 | That portion of Section 31, Township 49 South, Range |
13 | 42 East, Broward County, Florida described as follows: |
14 |
|
15 | Begin at the point of intersection of the East line of |
16 | said Section 31 with the centerline of Sunrise |
17 | Boulevard, as shown on the plat of THUNDERBIRD SWAP |
18 | SHOP I, according to the plat thereof, as recorded in |
19 | Plat Book 139, Page 2, of the Public Records of |
20 | Broward County Florida; |

22 | Thence Westerly along said centerline to a point of |
23 | the Southerly prolongation of the West line of EXXON- |
24 | SUNRISE BOULEVARD, according to the plat thereof, as |
25 | recorded in Plat Book 141, Page 38, of the Public |
26 | records of Broward County, Florida, said point being |
27 | on the municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill, |
28 | as established by Ordinance No. 04-10-217; |

30 | Thence Northerly along said Southerly prolongation and |
31 | the West line of said plat and along said municipal |
32 | boundary to the Northwest corner of said plat; |
33 |
|
34 | Thence Easterly along the North line of said plat and |
35 | the Easterly prolongation thereof and along said |
36 | municipal boundary to a point of intersection with the |
37 | East line of said Section 31; |
38 |

39 | Thence Southerly along said East line to the POINT OF |
40 | BEGINNING. |

42 | Section 2. The area described in section 1 shall be deemed |
43 | a part of the City of Lauderhill on September 15, 2010, subject |
44 | to section 171.062, Florida Statutes, except as provided for in |
45 | this act. |
46 | Section 3. Upon annexation into the City of Lauderhill, |
47 | the area described in section 1 shall be governed as follows: |
48 | (1) The annexed property shall be governed by the relevant |
49 | land use and zoning provisions of the City of Lauderhill's Code |
50 | of Ordinances. Any change of the zoning districts or land use |
51 | designations may only be accomplished by enactment of the vote |
52 | of a majority plus one of the full governing body of the City of |
53 | Lauderhill. |
54 | (2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), any use, building, or |
55 | structure that is legally in existence at the time of annexation |
56 | shall become a part of the City of Lauderhill. Such use shall |
57 | not be made a prohibited use by the City of Lauderhill, on the |
58 | property of such use, for as long as the use shall continue and |
59 | not be voluntarily abandoned. |
60 | Section 4. Nothing in this act shall be construed to |
61 | affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contract, |
62 | whether the contract be between Broward County and a third party |
63 | or the City of Lauderhill and a third party, or between |
64 | nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect prior to |
65 | the effective date of the annexation. |
66 | Section 5. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
