    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Office of Supplier Diversity of
    3         the Department of Management Services; amending s.
    4         287.09451, F.S.; providing for the affidavit for
    5         certification of a minority business enterprise to be
    6         signed electronically; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

   10         Section 1. Paragraph (m) of subsection (4) of section
   11  287.09451, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         287.09451 Office of Supplier Diversity; powers, duties, and
   13  functions.—
   14         (4) The Office of Supplier Diversity shall have the
   15  following powers, duties, and functions:
   16         (m) To certify minority business enterprises, as defined in
   17  s. 288.703, and as specified in ss. 287.0943 and 287.09431, and
   18  shall recertify such minority businesses at least once every 2
   19  years. Minority business enterprises must be recertified at
   20  least once every 2 years by affidavit, which may include an
   21  electronic signature.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
