| 2 | A memorial to the Congress of the United States, |
| 3 | petitioning that a convention be called pursuant to |
| 4 | Article V of the United States Constitution to consider |
| 5 | amending the United States Constitution to limit the terms |
| 6 | of members of the Congress of the United States to 12 |
| 7 | years; providing that the purview of such convention be |
| 8 | limited strictly to the consideration of this amendment; |
| 9 | providing that this application to the Congress be a |
| 10 | continuing application until the convention herein applied |
| 11 | for is convened. |

| 13 | Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 14 |
|
| 15 | That pursuant to Article V of the Constitution of the |
| 16 | United States, the Legislature of the State of Florida does |
| 17 | hereby apply to the Congress of the United States for a |
| 18 | convention to consider the following amendment to the United |
| 19 | States Constitution: |

| 21 | No person may appear on the ballot for re- |
| 22 | election to the office of Representative or Senator |
| 23 | who, by the end of the current term of office, will |
| 24 | have served or, but for resignation, would have served |
| 25 | in that office for twelve consecutive years. |
| 26 |

| 27 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purview of any convention |
| 28 | called by the Congress pursuant to this memorial be strictly |
| 29 | limited to the consideration of an amendment of the nature as |
| 30 | herein proposed. |
| 31 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this application by the |
| 32 | Legislature of the State of Florida constitutes a continuing |
| 33 | application pursuant to Article V of the United States |
| 34 | Constitution, until such time as two-thirds of the Legislatures |
| 35 | of the several states have made similar applications and the |
| 36 | convention herein applied for is convened. |
| 37 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be |
| 38 | dispatched to the President of the United States, to the |
| 39 | President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the |
| 40 | United States House of Representatives, to each member of the |
| 41 | Florida delegation to the United States Congress, and to the |
| 42 | presiding officer of each house of each state legislature in the |
| 43 | United States. |
