    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to requests for absentee ballots;
    3         amending s. 101.62, F.S.; permitting the preparation
    4         and distribution of absentee ballot request forms by
    5         third-party organizations; requiring that the forms be
    6         returnable to the supervisor of elections’ office or
    7         the Division of Elections; providing an effective
    8         date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (1) of
   13  section 101.62, Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         101.62 Request for absentee ballots.—
   15         (1)
   16         (c) A third-party organization may prepare and distribute
   17  absentee ballot request forms. The absentee ballot request forms
   18  must be preprinted and returnable directly from the elector to
   19  the supervisor of elections’ office or the Division of
   20  Elections.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
