    2         An act relating to public school teachers; creating s.
    3         1011.635, F.S.; requiring that the Legislature fund a
    4         cost-of-living increase in the General Appropriations
    5         Act for teachers who teach prekindergarten through
    6         grade 12 in the public school system; providing an
    7         effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 1011.635, Florida Statutes, is created
   12  to read:
   13         1011.635 Cost-of-living increase for public school
   14  teachers.—The Legislature, in the General Appropriations Act,
   15  shall fund a cost-of-living increase for all teachers in the
   16  public school system, prekindergarten through grade 12, as
   17  defined in s. 1012.01(2)(a). This section may not be construed
   18  to conflict with chapter 447.
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
