1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to community colleges amending s.
3	288.8175, F.S., relating to educational institutes;
4	conforming provisions; amending s. 1000.21, F.S.; renaming
5	Central Florida Community College as "College of Central
6	Florida," renaming Lake City Community College as "Florida
7	Gateway College," renaming Palm Beach Community College as
8	"Palm Beach State College," and renaming Seminole
9	Community College as "Seminole State College of Florida";
10	providing an effective date.

12	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14	Section 1.  Paragraph (d) of subsection (5) of section
15	288.8175, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
16	288.8175  Linkage institutes between postsecondary
17	institutions in this state and foreign countries.-
18	(5)  The institutes are:
19	(d)  Florida-Canada Institute (University of Central
20	Florida and Palm Beach State Community College).
21	Section 2.  Paragraphs (c), (l), (r), and (y) of subsection
22	(3) of section 1000.21, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
23	1000.21  Systemwide definitions.-As used in the Florida K-
24	20 Education Code:
25	(3)  "Florida college" or "community college," except as
26	otherwise specifically provided, includes all of the following
27	public postsecondary educational institutions in the Florida
28	College System and any branch campuses, centers, or other
29	affiliates of the institution:
30	(c)  College of Central Florida Community College, which
31	serves Citrus, Levy, and Marion Counties.
32	(l)  Florida Gateway Lake City Community College, which
33	serves Baker, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Union Counties.
34	(r)  Palm Beach State Community College, which serves Palm
35	Beach County.
36	(y)  Seminole State College of Florida Community College,
37	which serves Seminole County.
38	Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
