    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to extended school day programs;
    3         creating a pilot program in Miami-Dade County that
    4         authorizes school districts to enter into agreements
    5         with the county recreation department for the purpose
    6         of using facilities for extended school day programs
    7         in approved middle schools and high schools; providing
    8         an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Extended School Day Pilot Program.—Beginning
   13  with the 2010-2011 school year, the Miami-Dade County school
   14  board shall implement a pilot program that authorizes school
   15  districts to enter into agreements with the county recreation
   16  department for the purpose of using facilities for extended
   17  school day programs in approved middle schools and high schools.
   18         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
