    2         An act relating to a nonbinding statewide advisory
    3         referendum; requiring that a question regarding a
    4         balanced federal budget be printed on the ballot and
    5         submitted to the voters in the 2010 general election;
    6         providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Nonbinding statewide advisory referendum.—At the
   11  2010 general election, the following question shall be printed
   12  on the ballot and submitted to the voters:

   14                    BALANCING THE FEDERAL BUDGET                   
   15          A NONBINDING REFERENDUM CALLING FOR AN AMENDMENT         
   16                  TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION                
   17  
   18         In order to stop the uncontrolled growth of our
   19         national debt and prevent excessive borrowing by the
   20         Federal Government, which threatens our economy and
   21         national security, should the United States
   22         Constitution be amended to require a balanced federal
   23         budget without raising taxes?

   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
