Florida Senate - 2010 (NP) SR 2838 By Senator Oelrich 14-03878-10 20102838__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution commending the University of Florida 3 Men’s Track and Field Team for its first-ever NCAA 4 Indoor Championship. 5 6 WHEREAS, the University of Florida Gators have long been 7 recognized for their tradition of stellar performance in all 8 intercollegiate sports, and 9 WHEREAS, the University of Florida Men’s Track and Field 10 Team has continued this tradition, achieved through hard work, 11 determination, and a winning attitude, and 12 WHEREAS, the team has grown and matured under the 13 experienced and skillful guidance of Head Coach Mike Holloway, 14 and 15 WHEREAS, the University of Florida Men’s Track and Field 16 Team on March 13, 2010, captured its first NCAA Indoor 17 Championship in program history at the Randal Tyson Track Center 18 at the University of Arkansas, scoring 57 total team points and 19 beating Oregon and Texas A&M by 13 points, and 20 WHEREAS, this victory by the University of Florida Men’s 21 Track and Field Team marked the 23rd National Championship won 22 by one of its NCAA teams, NOW, THEREFORE, 23 24 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida: 25 26 That the University of Florida Men’s Track and Field Team 27 is congratulated for its 2010 National Championship season. 28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with 29 the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Head Coach Mike 30 Holloway as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida 31 Senate.
