Florida Senate - 2010 (NP) SR 2846 By Senator Constantine 22-04435-10 20102846__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution recognizing the Winter Park High School 3 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team. 4 5 WHEREAS, the Winter Park High School 2010 Wildcats 6 Basketball Team set a school record by finishing the season with 7 an outstanding record of 29 wins and 6 losses, and 8 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team was ranked first 9 in the East Metro Conference, Central Florida, and this state, 10 and 11 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team was ranked 12 twelfth in the nation, and 13 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team finished second 14 at the prestigious City of Palms Tournament and third at the 15 ESPN National High School Invitational Tournament, and 16 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team defeated 17 archrival Dr. Phillips High School by a score of 76-57 on March 18 6, 2010, and went on to win the State 6A Championship for the 19 first time in the school’s 83-year history, and 20 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team was lead to 21 victory by coaches David Bailey, Eric Faber, Tom Beard, David 22 Jakubcin, and David Stock, Principal William Gordon, and 23 Athletic Director Michael Brown, and 24 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team was comprised of 25 outstanding players Ashton Burke, Alexander Carpousis, Julius 26 Carroll, Adam Jones, Robert Lovaglio, John David Swanson, Isaac 27 Turner, Brett Comer, James Ferrell, Austin Rivers, Alexander 28 Swanson, Aaron White, Brian Klusman, and Michael Mitchell, and 29 managers Brooks Worswick, Jeffrey Lee, and Whitney Miller, and 30 WHEREAS, the 2010 Wildcats Basketball Team accomplished 31 much over the course of the 2009-2010 season through hard work 32 and team spirit and earned the admiration and support of the 33 residents of Winter Park and the surrounding community, NOW, 34 THEREFORE, 35 36 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida: 37 38 That the members of the Senate recognize the outstanding 39 accomplishments of the Winter Park High School 2010 Wildcats 40 Basketball Team and applaud the athletic ability, model 41 sportsmanship, and honorable citizenship demonstrated by team 42 members.
