| 4 | University of South Florida to increase the aggregate sum |
| 5 | of activity and service, health, and athletic fees to |
| 6 | exceed the 5 percent cap on annual increases for the |
| 7 | purpose of increasing the activity and service fee at the |
| 8 | University of South Florida St. Petersburg; requiring that |
| 9 | revenue from the increase in the activity and service fee |
| 10 | be used to construct and operate a multipurpose campus |
| 11 | center on the University of South Florida St. Petersburg |
| 12 | campus; requiring that any proposed increase in the fee be |
| 13 | approved by the activity and service fee committee; |
| 14 | providing an effective date. |

| 16 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 17 |

| 18 | Section 1. Notwithstanding s. 1009.24(4)(d), Florida |
| 19 | Statutes, the Board of Trustees of the University of South |
| 20 | Florida may increase the aggregate sum of activity and service, |
| 21 | health, and athletic fees to exceed the 5 percent cap on annual |
| 22 | increases to such fees for the 2010-2011 fiscal year for the |
| 23 | purpose of increasing the activity and service fee at the |
| 24 | University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Revenue generated by |
| 25 | the increase in the activity and service fee shall be used to |
| 26 | construct and operate a multipurpose campus center on the |
| 27 | University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus. Any proposed |
| 28 | increase in the fee must be approved by the university's |
| 29 | activity and service fee committee pursuant to s. 1009.24(10), |
| 30 | Florida Statutes. |
| 31 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010. |
