    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to residential fire sprinkler
    3         requirements; amending s. 553.73, F.S.; prohibiting
    4         incorporation into the Florida Building Code of
    5         certain mandatory residential fire sprinkler
    6         provisions of the International Residential Code;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (14) is added to section 553.73,
   12  Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         553.73 Florida Building Code.—
   14         (14) The provisions of section R313 of the most current
   15  version of the International Residential Code relating to
   16  mandated fire sprinklers may not be incorporated into the
   17  Florida Building Code as adopted by the Florida Building
   18  Commission and may not be adopted as a local amendment to the
   19  Florida Building Code.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
