House Resolution
2A resolution recognizing the Florida Association for
3Behavior Analysis on its 30th anniversary and designating
4the week of September 6-10, 2010, as "Florida Behavior
5Analysis Week" in Florida.

7     WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is
8the nation's largest statewide organization committed to the
9promotion and support of behavior analysis, and
10     WHEREAS, for the past 30 years the Florida Association for
11Behavior Analysis has promoted the ethical, humane, and
12effective application of behavior principles in all aspects of
13society, including education, business, rehabilitation
14facilities, and government, and
15     WHEREAS, behavior analysis is a science-based, cost-
16effective approach for training teachers, parents, and
17caregivers to prevent and solve serious behavior problems, and
18     WHEREAS, behavior analysis has demonstrated its
19effectiveness for many applications, including the treatment of
20individuals with autism, teaching basic self-help skills and
21language to persons with developmental disabilities, and helping
22foster parents lovingly raise emotionally difficult children,
23and
24     WHEREAS, the behavior analysts who are members of the
25Florida Association for Behavior Analysis have diverse
26backgrounds, including consulting firms, state government
27programs, private therapy practices, and school administrations,
28and
29     WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis
30holds an annual conference each fall as a forum for exchanging
31ideas and data-based research relating to behavior analysis,
32behavior therapy, performance management, and behavior
33management programming, NOW, THEREFORE,

35Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
36Florida:

38     That the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is
39recognized for its 30 years of contributions to the field of
40behavior analysis and that the week of September 6-10, 2010, is
41designated as "Florida Behavior Analysis Week" in Florida.
42     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
43presented to the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis as a
44tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
