5 | Section 15. Section 551.118, Florida Statutes, is amended |
6 | to read: |
7 | 551.118 Compulsive or addictive gambling prevention |
8 | program.- |
9 | (1) The slot machine licensee shall offer training to |
10 | employees on responsible gaming and shall work with a compulsive |
11 | or addictive gambling prevention program to recognize problem |
12 | gaming situations and to implement responsible gaming programs |
13 | and practices. |
14 | (2) The division shall, subject to competitive bidding, |
15 | contract for provision of services related to the prevention of |
16 | compulsive and addictive gambling. The contract shall provide |
17 | for an advertising program to encourage responsible gaming |
18 | practices and to publicize a gambling telephone help line. Such |
19 | advertisements must be made both publicly and inside the |
20 | designated slot machine gaming areas of the licensee's |
21 | facilities. The terms of any contract for the provision of such |
22 | services shall include accountability standards that must be met |
23 | by any private provider. The failure of any private provider to |
24 | meet any material terms of the contract, including the |
25 | accountability standards, shall constitute a breach of contract |
26 | or grounds for nonrenewal. The division may consult with the |
27 | Department of the Lottery in the development of the program and |
28 | the development and analysis of any procurement for contractual |
29 | services for the compulsive or addictive gambling prevention |
30 | program. |
31 | (3) The compulsive or addictive gambling prevention |
32 | program shall be funded from an annual nonrefundable regulatory |
33 | fee of $250,000 paid by the licensee to the private provider |
34 | pursuant to subsection (2) division. |
