The Department of Transportation is directed to 7 conduct a study regarding the efficacy of traffic infraction 8 detectors in increasing safety and reducing crashes at 9 intersections monitored by such devices. The study must include, 10 but is not limited to, analysis of crash and injury rates for 11 intersection approaches before and after the installation of 12 traffic infraction detectors and the types of violations 13 recorded at the intersection. The report must specifically 14 include information on the methodology and decision-process used 15 to determine whether a violation has taken place, including 16 violations of ss. 316.075(1)(c)1.a. and b.
