       The Committee on Budget Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism,
       and Economic Development Appropriations (Diaz de la Portilla)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)
    2  
    3         Between lines 2924 and 2925
    4  insert:
    5  (18) Signs that promote the official sponsor of an event, sports
    6  team, exhibition, or facility in connection with the operation
    7  of a publicly owned and privately operated professional sport
    8  and entertainment venue fronting on a federal aid primary
    9  highway shall be exempt from the requirement that a permit be
   10  obtained under the provisions of this chapter. Application of
   11  the provisions of this subsection shall be suspended if the
   12  Federal Government notifies the department that such application
   13  will adversely affect the allocation of federal funds to the
   14  department.
