    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the tax on sales, use, and other
    3         transactions; specifying a period during which sales
    4         of firearms are exempt from the tax; authorizing the
    5         Department of Revenue to adopt rules; providing an
    6         effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. (1) The tax levied under chapter 212, Florida
   11  Statutes, may not be collected on the sale of firearms during
   12  the period from 12:01 a.m., October 1, 2011, through 11:59 p.m.,
   13  October 2, 2011.
   14         (2) The Department of Revenue may adopt rules pursuant to
   15  ss. 120.536(1) and 120.54, Florida Statutes, to administer this
   16  section.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
