       The Committee on Criminal Justice (Dean) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (624892) 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 170 - 176
    4  and insert:
    5  that service who is charged with a misdemeanor is eligible for
    6  voluntary admission into a misdemeanor pretrial veterans
    7  treatment intervention program approved by the chief judge of
    8  the circuit, for a period based on the program requirements and
    9  the treatment plan for the offender, upon motion of either party
   10  or the court’s own motion. However, the court may deny the
   11  defendant admission into a misdemeanor pretrial veterans
   12  treatment intervention program if the defendant has previously
   13  entered a court-ordered veterans treatment program.
