       The Committee on Budget (Fasano) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 88 - 93
    4  and insert:
    5         (b) This section does not apply to:
    6         (a) Any action brought by any person to recover actual
    7  economic damages resulting from pollution or, to any action
    8  based upon an intentional tort., or to
    9         (b)Any action brought by, or on behalf of, a first
   10  responder for injuries or death occurring while occupying a
   11  vehicle provided to a first responder by his or her employer.
   12  The term “first responder” as used in this paragraph means a law
   13  enforcement officer as defined in s. 943.10, a firefighter as
   14  defined in s. 633.30, or an emergency medical technician or
   15  paramedic as defined in s. 401.23. A part-time or volunteer law
   16  enforcement officer, firefighter, or emergency medical
   17  technician or paramedic is deemed to be a first responder for
   18  purposes of this subsection.
   19         (c) Any cause of action as to which application of the
   20  doctrine of joint and several liability is specifically provided
   21  by chapter 403, chapter 498, chapter 517, chapter 542, or
   22  chapter 895.
