The Committee on Regulated Industries (Norman) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (521832) (with title
2 amendment)

4 Between lines 51 and 52
5 insert:
6 Section 3. Section 455.2185, Florida Statutes, is amended
7 to read:
8 455.2185 Exemption for certain out-of-state or foreign
9 professionals; limited practice permitted.—
10 (1) A professional of any other state or of any territory
11 or other jurisdiction of the United States or of any other
12 nation or foreign jurisdiction is exempt from the requirements
13 of licensure under this chapter and the applicable professional
14 practice act under the agency with regulatory jurisdiction over
15 the profession if that profession is regulated in this state
16 under the agency with regulatory jurisdiction over the
17 profession and if that person:
18 (a) Holds, if so required in the jurisdiction in which that
19 person practices, an active license to practice that profession.
20 (b) Engages in the active practice of that profession
21 outside the state.
22 (c) Is employed or designated in that professional capacity
23 by a sports entity visiting the state for a specific sporting
24 event.
25 (2) A professional’s practice under this section is limited
26 to the members, coaches, and staff of the team for which that
27 professional is employed or designated and to any animals used
28 if the sporting event for which that professional is employed or
29 designated involves animals. A professional practicing under
30 authority of this section shall not have practice privileges in
31 any licensed veterinary facility without the approval of that
32 facility.
33 Section 4. Section 456.023, Florida Statutes, is amended to
34 read:
35 456.023 Exemption for certain out-of-state or foreign
36 professionals; limited practice permitted.—

65 amending ss. 455.2185 and 456.023, F.S.; deleting
66 provisions that limit the practice privileges of out
67 of-state or foreign health care professionals or
68 veterinarians who are in this state for a specific
69 sporting event;
