2	An act relating to crisis stabilization units; amending s.
3	394.875, F.S.; directing the Department of Children and
4	Family Services to implement a demonstration project in
5	circuit 18 to test the impact of expanding the maximum
6	number of crisis stabilization unit beds; providing an
7	effective date.

9	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11	Section 1.  Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (1) of
12	section 394.875, Florida Statutes, to read:
13	394.875  Crisis stabilization units, residential treatment
14	facilities, and residential treatment centers for children and
15	adolescents; authorized services; license required.-

17	(d)  The department is directed to implement a
18	demonstration project in circuit 18 to test the impact of
19	expanding beds authorized in crisis stabilization units from 30
20	to 50 beds. Specifically, the department is directed to
21	authorize existing public or private crisis stabilization units
22	in circuit 18 to expand bed capacity to a maximum of 50 beds and
23	to assess the impact such expansion would have on the
24	availability of crisis stabilization services to clients.
25	Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
