    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution honoring the Florida National Guard and
    3         recognizing March 29, 2011, as “Florida National Guard
    4         Day.”
    5  
    6         WHEREAS, the Florida National Guard is the military arm of
    7  the Governor and the people of this state, and
    8         WHEREAS, in times of crisis or emergency, the Florida
    9  National Guard stands ready to immediately respond to a call
   10  from the Governor, and
   11         WHEREAS, the citizens of this state are assured that, when
   12  called to protect their lives and property, the Florida National
   13  Guard will respond, prepared to accomplish any task or mission,
   14  and
   15         WHEREAS, the Florida Air National Guard deployed for
   16  Operation Noble Eagle to protect the skies over this state on
   17  September 11, 2001, and deployed again in support of Operation
   18  Iraqi Freedom, and
   19         WHEREAS, elements of the Florida Army National Guard
   20  continue to deploy in support of Operation New Dawn and
   21  Operation Enduring Freedom, and
   22         WHEREAS, the Florida National Guard is richly deserving of
   23  recognition for its immediate and effective response to man-made
   24  and natural disasters, as its soldiers and airmen stand ready to
   25  protect the citizens of this state, NOW, THEREFORE,
   26  
   27  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   28  
   29         That the Senate commends the true and faithful service and
   30  constant readiness of the soldiers and airmen of the Florida
   31  National Guard and the sacrifices of their family members and,
   32  therefore, recognizes March 29, 2011, as “Florida National Guard
   33  Day.”
   34         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with
   35  the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Major General
   36  Emmett R. Titshaw, Jr., Adjutant General of Florida, as a
   37  tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
