6 | Section 1. Subsections (4) and (5) of section 393.0661, |
7 | Florida Statutes, are amended, present subsection (8) is |
8 | renumbered as subsection (9), and a new subsection (8) is added |
9 | to that section, to read: |
10 | 393.0661 Home and community-based services delivery |
11 | system; comprehensive redesign.-The Legislature finds that the |
12 | home and community-based services delivery system for persons |
13 | with developmental disabilities and the availability of |
14 | appropriated funds are two of the critical elements in making |
15 | services available. Therefore, it is the intent of the |
16 | Legislature that the Agency for Persons with Disabilities shall |
17 | develop and implement a comprehensive redesign of the system. |
18 | (4) The geographic differential for Miami-Dade, Broward, |
19 | and Palm Beach Counties for residential habilitation services |
20 | shall be 3.5 7.5 percent. |
21 | (5) The geographic differential for Monroe County for |
22 | residential habilitation services shall be 3.5 20 percent. |
23 | (8) Beginning July 1, 2011, the agency shall pay a uniform |
24 | reimbursement rate to all providers of companion care services. |
25 | The rate shall be set by the agency. The agency is authorized to |
26 | seek federal approval to amend current waivers in order to |
27 | comply with this subsection. |
28 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
