House Comm: WD . 04/26/2011 . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Rules (Flores) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 37 - 56 4 and insert: 5 (3)Notwithstanding any other provision of this section,6each current member of a judicial nominating commission7appointed directly by the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar8shall serve the remainder of his or her term, unless removed for9cause. The terms of all other members of a judicial nominating10commission are hereby terminated, and the Governor shall appoint11new members to each judicial nominating commission in the12following manner:13(a) Two appointments for terms ending July 1, 2002, one of14which shall be an appointment selected from nominations15submitted by the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar pursuant16to paragraph (1)(a);17(b) Two appointments for terms ending July 1, 2003; and18(c) Two appointments for terms ending July 1, 2004.19 20 Everysubsequentappointment, except an appointment to fill a 21 vacant, unexpired term, shall be for 4 years. Each expired term 22 or vacancy shall be filled by appointment in the same manner as 23 the member whose position is being filled. 24 Section 2.
