Senator Altman moved the following:

4 insert:
5 Section 3. Paragraph (o) is added to subsection (15) of
6 section 320.02, Florida Statutes, to read:
7 320.02 Registration required; application for registration;
8 forms.—

10 (o) Notwithstanding s. 26 of chapter 2010-223, Laws of
11 Florida, the application form for motor vehicle registration and
12 renewal registration must include a provision permitting a
13 voluntary contribution of $1 or more per applicant, to be
14 distributed to the Auto Club South Traffic Safety Foundation, a
15 nonprofit organization. Funds received by the foundation shall
16 be used to improve traffic safety culture, including the use of
17 child restraint devices, in communities through effective
18 outreach, education, and activities that will save lives, reduce
19 injuries, and prevent crashes. The foundation must comply with
20 s. 320.023.

22 For the purpose of applying the service charge provided in s.
23 215.20, contributions received under this subsection are not
24 income of a revenue nature.
25 Section 4. Paragraph (o) is added to subsection (7) of
26 section 322.08, Florida Statutes, to read:
27 322.08 Application for license; requirements for license
28 and identification card forms.—
29 (7) The application form for an original, renewal, or
30 replacement driver’s license or identification card shall
31 include language permitting the following:
32 (o) Notwithstanding s. 26 of chapter 2010-223, Laws of
33 Florida, a voluntary contribution of $1 or more per applicant to
34 the Auto Club South Traffic Safety Foundation, a nonprofit
35 organization. Funds received by the foundation shall be used to
36 improve traffic safety culture, including the use of child
37 restraint devices, in communities through effective outreach,
38 education, and activities that will save lives, reduce injuries,
39 and prevent crashes. The foundation must comply with s. 322.081.

41 A statement providing an explanation of the purpose of the trust
42 funds shall also be included. For the purpose of applying the
43 service charge provided in s. 215.20, contributions received
44 under paragraphs (b)-(o) (b)-(n) are not income of a revenue
45 nature.
