       Senator Jones moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 74 - 96
    4  and insert:
    5         (g) The organization shall adopt bylaws or policies that
    6  require student athletes who are suspected of sustaining a
    7  concussion or head injury in a practice or competition to be
    8  immediately removed from the activity. A student athlete who has
    9  been removed may not return to practice or competition until the
   10  student receives written clearance to return from a physician
   11  who is licensed under chapter 458, chapter 459, or chapter 460
   12  stating that the student athlete no longer exhibits signs,
   13  symptoms or behaviors consistent with a concussion or other head
   14  injury. Before issuing a written clearance to return to practice
   15  or competition, a physician may:
   16         1. Delegate the performance of medical acts to a health
   17  care practitioner licensed or certified under s. 458.347, s.
   18  459.022, s. 464.012, or s. 468.707 with whom the physician
   19  maintains a formal supervisory relationship or an established
   20  written protocol that identifies the medical acts or evaluations
   21  to be performed and conditions for their performance and that
   22  attests to proficiency in the evaluation and management of
   23  concussions.
   24         2. Consult with, or utilize testing and evaluation of
   25  cognitive functions performed by, a neuropsychologist licensed
   26  under chapter 490.
