3     Amendment
4     Remove lines 38-95 and insert:
5return from a physician licensed under chapter 458 or chapter
6459 who is trained in the evaluation and management of
7concussions. Prior to issuing a written clearance to play, a
8physician may:
9     1.  Delegate the performance of medical acts to a health
10care provider licensed or certified under s. 458.347, s.
11459.022, s. 464.012, or s. 468.707 with whom the physician
12maintains a formal supervisory relationship or an established
13written protocol that identifies the medical acts or evaluations
14to be performed and conditions for their performance and that
15attests to proficiency in the evaluation and management of
16concussions.
17     2.  Consult with, or utilize testing and evaluation of
18cognitive functions performed by, a neuropsychologist licensed
19under chapter 490.
20     3.  Consult with or utilize evaluations performed by a
21chiropractic physician licensed under chapter 460.
22     Section 2.  Paragraphs (e), (f), and (g) are added to
23subsection (2) of section 1006.20, Florida Statutes, to read:
24     1006.20  Athletics in public K-12 schools.-
25     (2)  ADOPTION OF BYLAWS.-
26     (e)  The organization shall adopt guidelines to educate
27athletic coaches, officials, administrators, student athletes,
28and their parents of the nature and risk of concussion and head
29injury.
30     (f)  The organization shall adopt bylaws or policies that
31require the parent of a student who is participating in
32interscholastic athletic competition or who is a candidate for
33an interscholastic athletic team to sign and return an informed
34consent that explains the nature and risk of concussion and head
35injury, including the risk of continuing to play after
36concussion or head injury, each year before participating in
37interscholastic athletic competition or engaging in any
38practice, tryout, workout, or other physical activity associated
39with the student's candidacy for an interscholastic athletic
40team.
41     (g)  The organization shall adopt bylaws or policies that
42require each student athlete who is suspected of sustaining a
43concussion or head injury in a practice or competition to be
44removed from practice or competition at that time. A student
45athlete who has been removed from practice or competition may
46not return to practice or competition until the student receives
47written clearance to return from a physician licensed under
48chapter 458 or chapter 459 who is trained in the evaluation and
49management of concussions. Prior to issuing a written clearance
50to return to play, a physician may:
51     1.  Delegate the performance of medical acts to a health
52care practitioner licensed or certified under s. 458.347, s.
53459.022, s. 464.012, or s. 468.707 with whom the physician
54maintains a formal supervisory relationship or an established
55written protocol that identifies the medical acts or evaluations
