A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to motor vehicle license plates; creating
3s. 320.0892, F.S.; providing for the Department of Highway
4Safety and Motor Vehicles to issue a Silver Star license
5plate, without payment of the license tax, to persons
6meeting specified criteria; creating s. 320.08921, F.S.;
7providing for the department to issue a Distinguished
8Service Cross license plate, without payment of the
9license tax, to persons meeting specified criteria;
10creating s. 320.08922, F.S.; providing for the department
11to issue a Navy Cross license plate, without payment of
12the license tax, to persons meeting specified criteria;
13creating s. 320.08923, F.S.; providing for the department
14to issue an Air Force Cross license plate, without payment
15of the license tax, to persons meeting specified criteria;
16providing an effective date.

18Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
19
20     Section 1.  Section 320.0892, Florida Statutes is created
21to read:
22     320.0892  Motor vehicle license plates to recipients of the
23Silver Star.-Any United States citizen who is a resident of
24Florida and who was awarded the Silver Star while serving as a
25member of the United States Armed Forces may, upon application
26to the department, be issued a license plate on which is stamped
27the words "Silver Star" followed by the serial number. Upon
28submission of the application and proof that the applicant meets
29the qualifications of this section, the plate shall be issued
30without payment of the license tax imposed by s. 320.08.
31     Section 2.  Section 320.08921, Florida Statutes, is created
32to read:
33     320.08921  Motor vehicle license plates to recipients of
34the Distinguished Service Cross.-Any United States citizen who
35is a resident of Florida and who was awarded the Distinguished
36Service Cross while serving as a member of the United States
37Armed Forces may, upon application to the department, be issued
38a license plate on which is stamped the words "Distinguished
39Service Cross" followed by the serial number. Upon submission of
40the application and proof that the applicant meets the
41qualifications of this section, the plate shall be issued
42without payment of the license tax imposed by s. 320.08.
43     Section 3.  Section 320.08922, Florida Statutes, is created
44to read:
45     320.08922  Motor vehicle license plates to recipients of
46the Navy Cross.-Any United States citizen who is a resident of
47Florida and who was awarded the Navy Cross while serving as a
48member of the United States Armed Forces may, upon application
49to the department, be issued a license plate on which is stamped
50the words "Navy Cross" followed by the serial number. Upon
51submission of the application and proof that the applicant meets
52the qualifications of this section, the plate shall be issued
53without payment of the license tax imposed by s. 320.08.
54     Section 4.  Section 320.08923, Florida Statutes, is created
55to read:
56     320.08923  Motor vehicle license plates to recipients of
57the Air Force Cross.-Any United States citizen who is a resident
58of Florida and who was awarded the Air Force Cross while serving
59as a member of the United States Armed Forces may, upon
60application to the department, be issued a license plate on
61which is stamped the words "Air Force Cross" followed by the
62serial number. Upon submission of the application and proof that
63the applicant meets the qualifications of this section, the
64plate shall be issued without payment of the license tax imposed
65by s. 320.08.
66     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
