| 5 | certain apprenticeship programs register with the former |
| 6 | Department of Labor and Employment Security; providing an |
| 7 | effective date. |

| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 10 |
|
| 11 | Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section |
| 12 | 489.1455, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 13 | 489.1455 Journeyman; reciprocity; standards.- |
| 14 | (1) An individual who holds a valid, active journeyman |
| 15 | license in the plumbing/pipe fitting, mechanical, or HVAC trades |
| 16 | issued by any county or municipality in this state may work as a |
| 17 | journeyman in the trade in which he or she is licensed in any |
| 18 | county or municipality of this state without taking an |
| 19 | additional examination or paying an additional license fee, if |
| 20 | he or she: |
| 21 | (b) Has completed an apprenticeship program registered |
| 22 | with the Department of Labor and Employment Security and |
| 23 | demonstrates 4 years' verifiable practical experience in the |
| 24 | trade for which he or she is licensed, or demonstrates 6 years' |
| 25 | verifiable practical experience in the trade for which he or she |
| 26 | is licensed; |
| 27 | Section 2. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section |
| 28 | 489.5335, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 29 | 489.5335 Journeyman; reciprocity; standards.- |
| 30 | (1) An individual who holds a valid, active journeyman |
| 31 | license in the electrical trade issued by any county or |
| 32 | municipality in this state may work as a journeyman in any other |
| 33 | county or municipality of this state without taking an |
| 34 | additional examination or paying an additional license fee, if |
| 35 | he or she: |
| 36 | (b) Has completed an apprenticeship program registered |
| 37 | with the Department of Labor and Employment Security and |
| 38 | demonstrates 4 years' verifiable practical experience in the |
| 39 | electrical trade, or demonstrates 6 years' verifiable practical |
| 40 | experience in the electrical trade; |
| 41 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
