Veterans disabled due to combat injury; 14 homestead property tax discount.—The amendment to subsection (e) 15 of Section 6 of Article VII relating to the homestead property 16 tax discount for veterans who became disabled as the result of a 17 combat injury shall take effect January 1, 2013. 18 19 ====== B A L L O T S T A T E M E N T A M E N D M E N T ====== 20 And the ballot statement is amended as follows: 21 Delete lines 91 - 97 22 and insert: 23 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 24 ARTICLE VII, SECTION 6 25 ARTICLE XII, SECTION 32 26 VETERANS DISABLED DUE TO COMBAT INJURY; HOMESTEAD PROPERTY 27 TAX DISCOUNT.—Proposing an amendment to Section 6 of Article VII 28 and the creation of Section 32 of Article XII of the State 29 Constitution to expand the availability of the property discount 30 on the homesteads of veterans who became disabled as the result 31 of a combat injury to include those who were not Florida 32 residents when they entered the military and schedule the 33 amendment to take effect January 1, 2013. 34 35 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 36 And the title is amended as follows: 37 Delete lines 2 - 7 38 and insert: 39 A joint resolution proposing an amendment to Section 6 40 of Article VII and the creation of Section 32 of 41 Article XII of the State Constitution to expand the 42 availability of the property tax discount on the 43 homesteads of veterans who became disabled as the 44 result of a combat injury to veterans who were not 45 Florida residents when they entered the military and 46 to provide an effective date.
