    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Public Service Commission;
    3         creating s. 350.129, F.S.; requiring approval by the
    4         Legislature of any vote taken by the commission which
    5         approves an increase in rates charged to customers for
    6         electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water, or
    7         wastewater service before the vote of the commission
    8         takes effect; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Section 350.129, Florida Statutes, is created to
   13  read:
   14         350.129 Legislative approval of rate increases.—Before
   15  taking effect, a vote by the Public Service Commission approving
   16  an increase in rates charged to customers for electric, natural
   17  gas, telecommunications, water, or wastewater service must be
   18  ratified by a majority vote of the Senate and the House of
   19  Representatives.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2012.
