Senator Benacquisto moved the following:

6 insert:
7 Section 1. (1) School districts are encouraged to enter
8 into partnerships with local businesses for purposes of
9 mentorship opportunities, the development of employment options
10 and additional funding sources, and other mutual benefits.
11 (2) As a pilot program through June 30, 2013, the Palm
12 Beach County school district may recognize its business partners
13 by publicly displaying their names on school district property
14 in the unincorporated areas. Project Graduation and athletic
15 sponsorships are examples of appropriate recognition. The
16 district shall make every effort to display its business
17 partners’ names in a manner that is consistent with the county
18 standards for uniformity in size, color, and placement of signs.
19 If the provisions of this section are inconsistent with the
20 county ordinances or regulations relating to signs in the
21 unincorporated areas or inconsistent with chapter 125, chapter
22 166, or chapter 479, Florida Statutes, the provisions of this
23 section shall prevail.
