Floor: 1/AD/2R . 05/03/2011 03:46 PM . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senator Hays moved the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 37 - 53 4 and insert: 5 (4)(a) The Division of Forestry shall designate one or more 6 areas of state forests as a “Wounded Warrior Special Hunt Area” 7 to honor wounded veterans and servicemembers. The purpose of 8 such designated areas is to provide special outdoor recreational 9 opportunities for eligible veterans and servicemembers. 10 (b) The division shall limit guest admittance to such 11 designated areas to any person who: 12 1. Is an active duty member of any branch of the United 13 States Armed Forces and has a combat-related injury as 14 determined by his or her branch of the United States Armed 15 Forces; or 16 2. Is a veteran who served during a period of wartime 17 service as defined in s. 1.01(14) or peacetime service as 18 defined in s. 296.02 and: 19 a. Has a service-connected disability as determined by the 20 United States Department of Veterans Affairs; or 21 b. Was discharged or released from military service because 22 of a disability acquired or aggravated while serving on active 23 duty. 24 (c) The division may grant admittance to such designated 25 areas to a person who is not an eligible veteran or 26 servicemember for purposes of accompanying an eligible veteran 27 or servicemember who requires the person’s assistance to use 28 such designated areas. 29 (d) Funding required for specialized accommodations shall 30 be provided through the Friends of Florida State Forests Program 31 created under s. 589.012. 32 (e) The division may adopt rules to administer this 33 subsection. 34 35 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 36 And the title is amended as follows: 37 Delete lines 3 - 5 38 and insert: 39 F.S.; requiring the designation of “Wounded Warrior 40 Special Hunt Areas” within state forests; limiting 41 guest admittance to such areas for eligible veterans, 42 servicemembers, and certain persons; requiring that 43 funding for specialized accommodations be provided 44 through specified sources; authorizing the Division of 45 Forestry of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer 46 Services to adopt rules; providing an
