Subsection (5) is added to section 401.465, 6 Florida Statutes, to read: 7 401.465 911 public safety telecommunicator certification.— 8 (5) TEMPORARY 911 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATORS; EXCEPTION. 9 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a public 10 safety agency may use sworn law enforcement officers as 11 temporary 911 public safety telecommunicators. Any officer who 12 works as a temporary 911 public safety telecommunicator must, 13 within 12 months after first serving as such, successfully 14 complete a supplementary training program for temporary 911 15 public safety telecommunicators which provides a maximum of 40 16 hours training and is distributed by the Criminal Justice 17 Standards and Training Commission. 18 Section 2.
