The Committee on Community Affairs (Storms) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete everything after the enacting clause
4 and insert:
5 Section 1. Subsection (5) is added to section 401.465,
6 Florida Statutes, to read:
7 401.465 911 public safety telecommunicator certification.—
8 (5) TEMPORARY 911 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATORS; EXCEPTION.
9 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a public
10 safety agency may use sworn law enforcement officers as
11 temporary 911 public safety telecommunicators. Any officer who
12 works as a temporary 911 public safety telecommunicator must,
13 within 12 months after first serving as such, successfully
14 complete a supplementary training program for temporary 911
15 public safety telecommunicators which provides a maximum of 40
16 hours training and is distributed by the Criminal Justice
17 Standards and Training Commission.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.

26 amending s. 401.465, F.S.; providing for sworn state

29 providing training requirements; providing an
30 effective date.
