Subsection (5) is added to section 401.465, 12 Florida Statutes, to read: 13 401.465 911 public safety telecommunicator certification.— 14 (5) TEMPORARY 911 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATORS; EXCEPTION. 15 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a public 16 safety agency may use sworn law enforcement officers as 17 temporary 911 public safety telecommunicators. Any officer who 18 works as a temporary 911 public safety telecommunicator must, 19 within 12 months after first serving as such, successfully 20 complete a supplementary training program for temporary 911 21 public safety telecommunicators which provides a maximum of 40 22 hours training and is distributed by the Criminal Justice 23 Standards and Training Commission. 24 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
