1	House Resolution
2	A resolution recognizing March 13-19, 2011, as "Advanced
3	Practice Registered Nurse Week" in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Week is
6	designed to raise public awareness of advanced registered nurse
7	practitioners in Florida, and
8	WHEREAS, in this state, advanced practice registered nurses
9	use the title "advanced registered nurse practitioner," and
10	WHEREAS, advanced practice registered nurses are certified
11	as nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists, and
12	clinical nurse specialists, and
13	WHEREAS, advanced practice registered nurses deliver
14	primary care, hospital care, maternity care, anesthesia care,
15	and psychiatric care, and
16	WHEREAS, 3 million Floridians have inadequate access to
17	basic health care, 21 percent of Floridians are uninsured, and 8
18	million Floridians are medically disenfranchised, and
19	WHEREAS, advanced practice registered nurses are often the
20	only health care provider for people who are uninsured or
21	insured through Medicaid and Medicare, and
22	WHEREAS, one of the principle goals of advanced practice
23	registered nurses is to be able to advocate for their patients,
24	and
25	WHEREAS, advanced practice registered nurses practice
26	independently in many of our nation's states, and
27	WHEREAS, numerous research studies have shown that advanced
28	practice registered nurses deliver safe, high-quality health
29	care, and
30	WHEREAS, is it fitting to take time to commend advanced
31	practice registered nurses for the service they provide, NOW,
32	THEREFORE,

34	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
35	Florida:

37	That March 13-19, 2011, is recognized as "Advanced Practice
38	Registered Nurse Week" in Florida.
