1	House Resolution
2	A resolution honoring Daryl Parks as President-Elect of
3	the National Bar Association.

5	WHEREAS, during the National Bar Association's 85th Annual
6	Convention held in New Orleans in August 2010, Daryl Parks was
7	elected to become the next President of this prestigious
8	organization, an office he will assume in 2011, and
9	WHEREAS, founded in 1925, the National Bar Association,
10	which represents a professional network of over 20,000 lawyers,
11	judges, educators, and law students, is the nation's oldest and
12	largest national association of predominantly African-American
13	lawyers and judges, and
14	WHEREAS, Daryl Parks, a founding and managing partner of
15	Parks & Crump, LLC, is a Florida A & M University alumnus,
16	having received his bachelor's degrees in political science and
17	economics while serving as the first Student Government
18	Association President to be elected to two consecutive terms in
19	the university's history, and
20	WHEREAS, Daryl Parks, who entered law school with the
21	purpose of making a difference in his community, received his
22	Juris Doctorate from Florida State University's College of Law,
23	and
24	WHEREAS, as an attorney in Tallahassee, Daryl Parks'
25	passion for the law specifically includes protecting those
26	incapable of protecting themselves, and he has established
27	himself as a methodical businessman and tenacious attorney who
28	fights for justice, and
29	WHEREAS, known for his compassion, community service, and
30	devotion to Florida A & M University, Daryl Parks currently sits
31	on the Boards of Directors of the Florida Justice Association,
32	the Tallahassee Urban League, the Leon County Sickle Cell
33	Foundation, and the Florida A & M University Foundation and is a
34	member of the Florida A & M University Board of Trustees, and
35	WHEREAS, as President-Elect of the National Bar
36	Association, Daryl Parks looks forward to using his leadership
37	to foster relationships between the organization's past and its
38	bright future, to work tirelessly to take the National Bar
39	Association to new heights, to expand its membership, and to
40	continue improving the administration of justice with honor and
41	integrity, NOW, THEREFORE,

43	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
44	Florida:

46	That it is fitting and appropriate that the House of
47	Representatives recognizes Daryl Parks for his outstanding
48	achievements and congratulates him for his election to the
49	highest office of the National Bar Association.
50	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
51	presented to Daryl Parks as a tangible token of the sentiments
52	expressed herein.
